Spring cleaning in the Roadhouse

The Roadhouse needed some love, and today was a good day to do it. I still had some Christmas lights in it and also a Christmas tree still up, yea…. I know, and it was about time to get it all cleaned up. Now to my defense, who would be looking in the Roadhouse to see the Christmas stuff? No one. But we’ve got a couple of days coming up that we’re going to use the building, so it was time. One of the things that we wanted to do was to get a new vacuum cleaner to keep outside. For some reason the one that we use in the house just gets kind of weird, and shuts off when we use it in the Roadhouse. I’m pretty sure that it’s not the best thing for it, so before I wreck my Dyson, we needed to check into some inexpensive one instead. I ran to town to check them out and also to buy one. My first stop was at a Good Will store, and I did find one. But for $2 you really get what you pay for. Yea, it didn’t work. So I went to a discount store I did find one that was fairly cheap and looked OK, so back home I went to see if it’ll work on our floor. Daryl got it out of the box, and it didn’t take long to realize that it was working well and the floor really did need a good cleaning. All the pillows and blankets are now in the laundry room, and all that needs to be done yet is to wash the floors and put back up the pictures on the walls. We took them down for the winter and brought them in the house just in case they’d get moisture under the glass. Even though fixing up the farrowing house was not only a lot of work, but also a little bit more money than we were thinking we were going to spend, man it was sure worth it. I think it was a really smart move on our side, and I can see us using this building for many years to come.
