Tuesday – Clean the garden day

So today I knew that I had to get the weeds that have been taking over the garden out. For some reason it was a project that I had to talk myself into, but once I got started it wasn’t so bad. There were weeds everywhere, and since I’ve been watering the garden all summer so far, I just hated to give up on it now. So I got my small wagon that I hook up to the lawn mower and parked it by the garden. At first I thought that maybe I could just do this with 5 gallon pails, but after the first one – I needed something much bigger to hold the weeds. It worked really well and once I got started, it only took a couple of hours. I ended up with a full wagon load of weeds though!

Too many weeds!

The garden is starting to come in and now I realize that maybe I’ve planted too many peppers. It was one of those things when you start the seeds and they all grow, what do you do with them? I gave some of them to my brother for his garden and then I planted the rest. Oh well, I’m sure I can freeze some of them and then I also need to make salsa this year so that will use up some of the other ones. But it looks like one of the peppers were a mixed color one? Anyway that’s what I’m hoping because a couple of my ‘green’ peppers are purple.

Good stuff

Clean again for now

I also was able to get the rest of the trimming done in the yard with the push mower and had big ambitions to use the weed trimmer to go around the rest of the buildings and our fences. But it was hot outside and I just wasn’t too excited about getting it all lined up. So I just went around and hand pulled where I thought it looked the worst and called it a day. I ended up the night going to the golf course and golfing with one of the my friends. We didn’t get that much golfing done, but we sure had a good time!
