Making my list and checking it twice

I have a pretty good list going, and so far so good. I was able to check off most of what I wanted to today, and I’m hoping tomorrow I’ll have as much luck. The first thing that happened today was that the repair person came to fix our satellite. He tried to say that the cables were just not plugged in tight enough, but I wasn’t buying it. Then finally he found out what was really the problem. The one cord that plugs the satellite in was bad. That made much more sense. So now we’re up and running again.

Today I was also able to get the one main wall decorated and the other two posters of the car are done and up. My Mom was over when William and I were working on hanging up some old horse collars on the wall and she said she would have never have thought of that. After she left to go back home, I’m not sure if she thought it was a good thing or not? I think it looks good and Daryl likes it, so it must be OK. I was also able to get the photo’s scanned for the movie night. These were two big projects on my list today and I’m glad that they are done. We also started to mow the lawn tonight and on Friday I’ll have to hurry and get it finished up. I’d also like to get the barn swept, but we’ll see. Other than that, it’s not been too bad so far. I even took some time off tonight and went golfing. Now I know that there is always something to do on the farm, but I haven’t been golfing all year and tonight was the night that my friend and I  had planned to go. We only got a few holes in, and then we went out for supper. It was fun, and it was exactly what I needed.

My Mom stopped over today to pick up a couple of cards that I made for her. This is the first time I’ve made cards for someone else and I sure hope that she likes them. She needs them for this weekend.

Some cards that I made for Mom

Kyle came home from Canada tonight for the Kuehner reunion. Yea! Allison wasn’t able to make it this time, but Kyle swung through Des Moines and picked up a good friend at the airport that he knew in Korea. They worked together for a couple of years teaching. She’s from the east coast and will be staying with us for a week. Fun! I think Kyle said she’s never been on a farm, so hopefully she’ll be able to do some fun things while she’s staying with us. Too bad she missed picking rock …..
