House On The Rock

We haven’t had much time lately to spend with William, so we wanted to do something today that we could enjoy together. We decided to go to Dodgeville, Wisc to the House On The Rock. Daryl and I went there a long time ago and we couldn’t decide if William went with us or not, so it seemed like a really good place to spend the day. We had to leave early in the morning because we always Skype with Kyle in Korea on Monday nights at 5:30 and we didn’t want to miss that. But just when we were talking about getting dressed, Daryl’s work called and off to town he went. He wasn’t gone very long (thank goodness) and we were able to leave only about an hour after we wanted to. We really had the best time today and it was a perfect way to end the holiday weekend. There is so much to see there and we talked about that you could go there so many times and still not see everything. William really likes to take pictures so I’m adding some of those to this post. I especially like the one with our feet taken in the Infinity Room. This room goes 218 feet out from the house and is 156 feet above the forest floor. If get a chance to go there sometime, there are 22 different themed areas to see while your’e there. Crazy! There is stuff and more stuff everywhere you look. William said it looks like a Hoarder lived there that did a good job. They have the world’s largest carousel and it has over 20,000 lights, 182 chandeliers and 269 handcrafted carousel animals. It’s huge! It’s 35 feet tall, 80 feet wide and weighs 36 tons that took 10 years to create. This is only just one ‘small’ display that we saw today.

Worlds Largest Carousel

Daryl's result in the chair was Sexpot and mine was Dud. Everyone thought it was funny but me!

Chinese music display that is unbelievable

Japanese influences are everywhere

Glass on the floor in the Infinity Room 156 feet above the ground

Not sure how you can lift this chain?

Windmills we saw on the way home

We were able to talk with Kyle tonight and that is always something that we look forward to. He uses this blog to show his preschool kids farm stuff and animals and he said that they are so fascinated on all the green grass and how the animals look. His class is once again will be celebrating Halloween, so I need to be on the look out for some small gifts for his class. The last time I sent small Easter Chick toys and then Kyle showed them pictures of our chickens at the farm. I think he was for sure one of the ‘popular teachers’ that day!
