For the past couple of Christmas’s, we’ve tried to make it up to the cities to see a musical. And we were lucky enough to get tickets to see one again this year.
You always have to be worried about the weather when you plan adventures in the winter, but the sun was shining and with no snow in the forecast off we went. We had tickets for the afternoon show of Fiddler on the Roof, which meant that they start seating people at 11:00 for the dinner. So that meant for us to leave our house around 8:00 in the morning.
But around 11:30 we found ourselves at the theater and headed inside to find our seats. I bought the tickets some time ago, and they were pretty limited at the time. We ended up sitting close to the front stage and I was a little worried that we were too close. But seeing how packed the theater was, I guess we should just be glad that we got seats. Once the show started we found out that the seats were just perfect. My worries that we were sitting too far to the front was just that Worries. I was more excited about this musical than others that we’ve seen in the past. The reason is because when Daryl was in high school he had the lead role for this show and it was also his favorite musical that he was in. So I’m guessing he was also anxious for it to start. Once it did, we had a blast. I got just as much of a kick out of watching Daryl enjoying the musical as the musical itself. And for the boys? Well, hearing them laugh and talk about the show later I know that they also had a good time. I tried to find some pictures of when Daryl was in the high school musical but couldn’t seem to find any. I know that things have changed since we’ve been in school, but when the boys were in musicals I literally took hundreds of pictures for the cast. That’s why I love the change when we went to digital cameras. You can always delete the bad ones and make tons of copies of the good ones. But that’s how it is now and not back when you had roll film, so I guess I’ll have to keep looking for his papers. And do you think I can find his year book for a picture? It’s not with the other yearbooks, so that wasn’t going to happen either.
On the way home from Minneapolis we drive by Rochester and what a great chance to stop in to say hi to Mom. We wanted to bring her a little Christmas tree earlier this week, but with being in ICU there are no live plants allowed. So now that she’s in a different room, we brought the tree with us. At first it was a Christmas tree, but we decided that it’ll be her New Years tree instead. She’s doing much better and is hoping to have her surgery next week.
