What was lost is now found

I’ll be the first one to say that both our dog and cat need some new friends to hang out with.  With our male dog gone, our female dog Reno hangs out with Little Kitty. Now normally this isn’t such a big deal. I mean, who really cares right? As long as no one picks on the other one so bad that they end up fighting, life is pretty good for both of them.

But lately I think Little Kitty has been acting more and more like a dog. When we drive into our yard, he will come running at the car and follows the car into the garage along with Reno. OK, still not the end of the world.. but a little strange.

So now Little Kitty has a new dog trick he’s been doing. He has two toy balls that he likes to play with in the house and his favorite is the hard foam ball. He takes the balls and chases them around the house and then when he sees that he’s too far away from the kitchen he carries them back… in his mouth…like a dog. At first he would just do this with the hard ball, but when that one got lost he started to do this with the bell ball. It looks pretty crazy if you ask me. Tonight he found his favorite toy ball and when he came walking across the kitchen with it I swear he had the most stupid look on his face and seemed pretty proud he found the favorite one again.DSC_0428The ball was a little ‘furry’ so it must have been tucked away in some lost corner of the house or something. But he didn’t mind and played with it a long time tonight. DSC_0437

As for everyone else on this cold day? Well Reno was in the house most of the day. She just lays so nice and quite on the blanket you don’t even know that she’s there most of the time. I’m thinking that this is her plan to stay under the radar.

But the cow water tank is another story. You have to watch it every day to make sure that it doesn’t freeze over. There are even extra heaters under the tank to keep it warm on days like today. But we had such a windy day today that I don’t know if it’s overflowing tonight or if the wind is just blowing the top of the water and it’s freezing on the sides. The good thing is that it’s not froze. The bad thing is that Daryl will have to check it to make sure that it’s not overflowing. DSC_0423
