Mall of America in Minneapolis – Saturday

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel in Minneapolis. It was a great location and it was clean and pretty nice. But on Saturday morning, the pool opened up at 7 am and with our room being a  pool side room, we could hear this family of 4 little kids playing Marco Polo all too well. And for some reason, they really didn’t understand the concept that you need to have many more ‘Marco’ callings than Polo. But it wasn’t the end of the world, and we all just pulled the covers over our heads for a couple more hours until they finally got out! Then some quick showers and off to the Mall of America we went. It was  close to where we were staying, so it took less than a 30 minute drive to get there. Once we walked into the mall,  it just takes some time to figure out what you want to do and where you want to go.  IMG_0639So guess what Daryl and I did? Pretty exciting stuff.. we took a survey. They wanted someone who was over 45 years old, and well.. that’s us! We’re not really survey people, but it wasn’t too bad and we got some pretty good stuff for doing it. I mean how can you turn down a Mall of America coupon book after all? Then off to a restaurant for dinner, and later we found out that William and Jude were also in there while we were. After checking out a couple of stores, Daryl and I ended up watching a Teenage Mutant Ninja contest for little kids. 20130817_140517_resizedNow I know that you’re not supposed to dwell on the past, but man did this contest bring back memories of when our oldest son Kyle was little. He Loved the Turtles and played with them all the time. After the contest, we decided what is a weekend away without ice cream? We found a Schwan’s ice cream store,  and of course we had to have some. Soon we met back with William and Jude,  and headed home.IMG_0649 Reno and the little kitty were more than excited to see us, and it was good to get home after a really busy, but fun weekend.

I LOVE the MOA! To me, it almost feels like a mini-vacation when you’re in there. (I know, I don’t get out enough!) Ha! Looks like a perfect weekend to me:)
