I was in the kitchen tonight after work, when I could hear something that was out in the yard. I couldn’t figure out what it was at first, and then you know how you just finally have to give up and see what actually is making all the noise? Well that’s what happened. I kept hearing tractors, but didn’t see any driving around. So when I finally went outside, I found Daryl taking some of the equipment out of the shed and washing them off. It’s pretty much a ritual with all farmers this time of the year. You get your equipment out of the machine sheds to see how they look and if you will need to make any repairs before you will use them out in the field. You also start washing them up and greasing them. But you know what else I think? I kind of think they get everything out of the sheds, park them in the yard, and just step back and kind of do an inventory of what they have. OK, maybe they don’t take everything out – but in about a week or two if you’re driving by our farm, I’m guessing that you’ll be seeing probably more than one tractor or piece of equipment sitting in our yard, just waiting to get out in the field and start the spring planting.
