The granary is painted! I finished off the white trim today and even though it doesn’t seem like that it was much trim to paint, it sure took longer than I thought. I did learn one thing today. I found a new definition of what pain can be. Now I am no stranger to doing weird things. I have stuck a pitch fork through my three toes and the only way to get it out was to step on my foot and pull, stepped on a tooth pick and had it in my foot for 2 weeks, and have stepped on numerous nails out on the farm that went into my foot. But today I did something that was really stupid! I always have my bladed hand scrapper with me just in case I need to do some touch up scraping work on the buildings. Well this afternoon was no different. I was painting with the ladder and had to move it. I forgot that I had my bladed hand scrapper on one of the rungs, and you can just about guess what happened! Down it came and hit me on the top of my head. WOW did that hurt! The only good thing is that I have a lot of hair and I was wearing a bandanna so that took some of the bluntness out of the fall. I thought what the heck was that and then I realized that it was the scrapper. It could have been worse and it didn’t cut my head. But then I thought – if it had been worse and I had to go to the hospital I was in trouble. My clothes that I wear painting is the furthest thing that I want anyone to see me in and I would have to wash the paint off me before I got into our car. So it was a good thing that it only gave me one heck of a headache. But I think I’m going to add it to my – ‘this is really stupid’ list that I’ve created for myself and hopefully this list won’t get any larger as the summer goes on!
