Taking the Chevelle out for a drive

What a beautiful day today was. It wasn’t too hot or too cold.. and it wasn’t windy at all! So after church we decided to take the Chevelle out for a drive. I’ve been wanting to go to Balltown, Iowa and that’s where we did go for a late dinner. The restaurant is called Breitbach’s Country Dining. And not only is it Iowa’s oldest restaurant and bar.. but after doing some research, it’s the oldest family owned restaurant and bar in the Nation! That’s kind of cool isn’t it. It was opened in 1852 and the same family has owned it ever since. They’ve had some bad luck with fires these past years, but when we entered into the building today it was almost like it was before the fires happened. The drive there was fantastic and you could see for miles and miles. On the way there we took roads that we haven’t been on before and to me that is a big part of the fun. The sun was out and the car ran really well. And for dinner? I told Daryl that I didn’t want to eat so much, but I guess I didn’t listen to myself very well. We both had the Sunday buffet and after two days of broasted chicken, I think I should cool it on the chicken for at least a little while. Then to top it off we each had cake with tons of frosting on each piece. Yup, I think I’ll need to plug in the treadmill again and soon. Then on the way home we ended up taking the roads that we were on when we went to check out the ferry the other weekend. To finish off the night we skyped with Kyle and Allison in Canada. We talked a little bit with them about Kyle’s cat Thor. Even though we couldn’t figure out how to get his cat home, he now is living in Allison’s parents house and it’s going well. Whew! What drama a cat can bring into your life. As for William? We are trying to figure out a time that we can skype with him. I’m hoping that we can set up some schedule also with him like we do with Kyle. He has been busy with ‘stuff’ at school and we haven’t had much of a chance to visit. Next week we’ll be at his college for the football game, but I’m guessing we won’t be seeing him much that day either. So for now? I’m thinking that we should try the skype thing.
