Betty Crocker

I had really good luck getting some of the garden stuff put into the freezer or canned today. I spent most of the day in the kitchen and was able to get another batch of jalapeno jelly made. This batch I like much better than the first one because it wasn’t so sweet, and had a little bit of a kick to it. I was at my sisters the other day and she had some jelly that she got from Door County and it was cherry salsa. So I was thinking that I had some frozen strawberries in the freezer, so I’m going to try adding that next time when I make more of the jalapeno jelly. If it doesn’t turn out, I’m not out much.  I also wanted to try to make some pickled banana peppers today, but didn’t have enough banana peppers. It looked easy to can, and I hope I’ll have enough to make some yet this year. Other things that I did in the kitchen today was to get the large tomatoes frozen. I usually make something with them and not freeze them, but I want to get the pantry cleaned out before I start to add to it again. I also got rid of some of my onions. I sliced them really thin and then packaged them to freeze. I’ll  put them on our barbecued steaks, and this will come really handy when I need some onions.  Since I was hanging out in the kitchen so much today, I also made some chocolate chip cookies. From the other smells that was coming from the kitchen, the cookie smell was so much better! The one thing that I was really greatfull for today was that the dishwasher was fixed. It went on the blink about a month ago and was only fixed a couple of weeks ago. Something about the front panel went bad. But now it’s fixed and Thank Goodness! Because at the end of the day, I did four loads.

I added a picture that I took this afternoon from my garden fence. I think that this frog had seen much better days, don’t you think?

Not good for this fro. I think he's a little dehydrated
