Did you ever open your refrigerator and just stand there and think – there is absolutely nothing good to eat in here! That’s what I have been doing lately. And even though there is plenty in the fridge, I still can’t figure out what I want. While I was standing in front of it the other day with the door open and this blank look on my face – I asked William if he ever felt that way. He said ..’all the time’. (OK, maybe I shouldn’t have asked him) But then he can just keep eating until he finds something that he likes and will stay as skinny as he was before he started to eat. Me? Not so lucky. So yesterday I thought I’d better do something about this. With a container now of shredded homemade barbecued pork sitting on the refrigerator shelf, it still didn’t do the trick. Now I needed to get something that has some sugar and butter in it. I found my recipe for cinnamon rolls and no bake cookies and decided to make them also. I wanted to try these cinnamon rolls again because they have yeast in them and the first time that I made them, the actually turned out! I couldn’t believe it, and wanted to know if it was just dumb luck. But once again – they did turn out. I’ve included these recipes on the pages of the blog. We also needed to do something with all those boiled eggs that I did the other night. So after I found a recipe for deviled eggs, I made them and into the fridge they went. Now for supper you would think that we should have enough to eat around here right? But we wanted to try something really quick that would work for an anytime snack. We’re not sure if you can bring portable pizza makers to college – but if William can, I’m sure he’ll be making these again in his dorm. What you use is a soft burrito for the crust and it tastes just like a thin pizza that you can literally make in about 5 minutes. First add some sauce, then take anything that’s in your fridge that you like to add, and finish it off with cheese. So easy and really kind of good!
The night was finished off with a bonfire and watering the flowers and garden. I shouldn’t be as tired as I am tonight – so I’m hoping to get a lot done tomorrow! I better have a good list then ready, don’t you think?
