Rain, Rain, go away..

Well we made it through all the prom activities this weekend, and all the kids looked so nice. It’s again another thing on the long list that are our ‘lasts’. But I’m also looking forward to all the firsts that we’ll be able to do next year with the boys. William will be heading to college and all the fun (and hard work) that’s going to bring him, and Kyle is hoping to get a job in Canada and then – who knows where he’ll end up. So even though I won’t lie it’s going to be a tough time at graduation, it’s also just the start of something that is going to be just as fun. I sure hope I can remember this in a couple of weeks when it actually happens! My guess, is that I won’t handle it very well.

Prom 2012

So today, with my list in hand – had trouble getting things checked off. I wanted to do some yard work, but it was overcast in the morning and then as the day went on, it rained.  The one thing that I wanted to get done was our fire pit. We talked to my brother on different ideas on how to do it, and we have a plan. We got the bricks that are going to be needed for it, but with the weather being so miserable today for anything outside, I’m hoping to get it done tomorrow. I’m also hoping that the brick that we picked out are ones that we’re going to like. They’ll be a pain if we have to take them back. They weigh 29 lbs each and it will be so much easier if we all like them. Going back to my list – Daryl said to make sure that I add planting corn.  He must not have realized that the list that I was talking about was only  mine, and if he needed one for himself – that’s something that he will have to come up with. Right now, I’ve got a weekly to do list, daily list, a graduation list, the graduation food list, school activity list, invitation list, and a scrapbook list. I just have to get them checked off now!

I’ve attached a picture of rose plant that I got as a Birthday gift from a friend. At first this little plant was looking really, really sad. It ended up losing all the leaves and I thought it was going to be the shortest living plant in our house on record. But I moved it to the North window in our laundry room, and it sure liked that area. It now has a couple of blossoms on it, and today the one bloomed. Very nice.
