Working outside today

What a really nice day it was today. It wasn’t the warmest, but the sun was shining and after I started to work for awhile on the flower beds, I switched my long sleeved shirt out for a tank top.  I was able to get a couple of the flower beds cleaned up and new edging with fresh mulch put in. It’s funny that something that isn’t so big, and really doesn’t look that bad – takes so much time isn’t it? Well three are done and just a couple more to go. The only problem I had was the dogs. Surprised? This time I ended up locking them OUT of the barn. What happened is some of the little kitties were in the barn and they kept finding them. So at first I would stop what I was doing, go and rescue the little kitty and bring her safely up into the hay loft. But after the third time my process changed. I would catch the kitty, go halfway up the ladder and then toss them into the soft straw that’s upstairs. I figured if they are jumping down into the barn, a little air time going back up wouldn’t hurt.

Since we’re one car down for our family, I’ve been taking Daryl to work in the morning. And tonight when I picked him up, off to the Ag store we went to look at new lawnmowers. Now our’s isn’t too bad and it still runs, but she’s lookin’ a little tough. We’ve also got quite a few hours on it and it’s time to get something different. We did find one that we liked and tonight Daryl and William loaded up ours on the pickup.Tomorrow I’m going back to see what we’re looking at for the final cost with our trade in. Daryl’s not going with me and I sure hope I have good luck dealing with them myself.

Then after we got home, we got cleaned up and went out for supper.  It was our 29th wedding anniversary and I just can’t believe how fast these 29 years went. Now I know that some of the years went by faster than others, but 29 years? When I was a kid, if couples were celebrating their 25th anniversary they would put their picture in the paper and I would think to myself – Holy Cow they are old! So now that we’ve gone by that by 4 years, I just don’t feel that old. Who knows what the next 29 years will bring, but I guess we’ll find out. So tonight we took the Chevelle out  and headed to town. The weather was still nice and it was fun taking the car out and just driving around.
