Driving and starting the floors in the Roadhouse

I was talking to Kyle yesterday and everything was going well. To be honest, I was thinking that it was going really well at the time. Kyle was almost to his girlfriends house in Canada and the car was working out really well. I was thinking to myself that this was really a good thing. We talked for awhile, and then we decided that we would talk again Sunday night. But after we hung up, within 60 seconds the phone rang again and I knew it was Kyle. I was wondering what he forgot to tell me, but what he was calling back for was that the car just died on this major highway he was on … in Canada! We were trying to get in touch with his girlfriend to see if she could help him out, and finally we did put together a plan. I tried to call Kyle back to see if he was able to talk to her and he didn’t answer his phone. OK, that’s weird. So I tried again… and then again. By this time, I had the worst ideas going through my head. When I was talking to him before this, I could hear the traffic going by and was worried for him on the side of the road. So now I’m thinking that maybe someone came by and picked him up. That would be really bad! I tried calling him again, but no one answered. Then I thought – what happened if he was on the road and someone hit him with their car? Really, really bad! That must be why he couldn’t answer the phone! It felt that I was trying to get in touch with him for a hours, but I think it was only a couple of minutes. It was one of those times that you just keep calling even though no one answered just a minute ago. But it turned out that he was talking to his girlfriend. OK, that was good. She had someone coming to pick Kyle up and then have a tow truck come and get his car. Soon after we talked, the phone rang again and it was Kyle. The car was working now. So now, I was trying to call everyone again in Canada to cancel the tow truck and someone picking him up. I have no idea why the car would have just died on the highway – and then started again later, but it did for Kyle. I don’t know what went wrong, but I was sure glad that it happened then and not when he was driving through Chicago or Detroit. I’m thinking this driving thing is a little stressful and flying might be the best way to travel. At least when your kids fly, you only have to worry about them getting to the plane on time and also their connecting flights, this driving stuff you worry the whole way there.

Daryl and I worked on the Roadhouse floor today. We thought we would have enough of the epoxy floor stuff, but we didn’t. We think that we ran out was because the floor is an old floor and has some spots that are not level. These spots took a little bit more of this epoxy paint. But we can get some at the farm store tomorrow and we’re hoping to get it all painted this weekend. It’s looking good, and it’s making the floor look nice and clean.

Can you tell where we painted?

And for our little kitty? Well she had company last night again. When I was walking through the yard, I noticed something on the grass by the house. I could see that it was black and when I got closer I saw that it was one of those little kitties from the barn again. I think the dog took it out of the barn, and was ‘playing’ with it by the house. And I could hear the one dog in the barn barking, so I figured out that the other kitty was there. So there were three little kitties again last night that stayed in our house, and today I loaded up a container with kitty food soaked in milk and back up into the hay loft they went. But now this little orange kitty that’s still left in our house is really getting to be a pain! I’ve tried everything to keep her in her laundry basket cage and for now, the kitty has gotten out maybe 6 times. Then when she gets out – she just screams until you pick her up and hold her. I have no idea on how she got so spoiled, but something has to change. She must not know that we’ve still got a couple of projects to get done before William’s graduation, and sitting around holding a kitty wasn’t on the official project list.

Thanks! Almost done.. just finishing up inside and then planting some flowers and trees outside. Still trying to have it all done by Graduation.

Come on now Bonnie, I think “kitty holding” needs to go on your project list!

I don’t think it should hit my list – but for some reason I’ve had to fit it in lately! Don’t you need another little kitty?
