The chicken coop is done! I’m glad that I can check off another building – even if it was an easier one to paint. Today was so windy and I wanted to get it finished, but I kept running into trouble when I was trying to paint. The wind would catch the paint when I took the brush out of the pail and blow the paint around. I did get a couple of splatters on the barn but I’m guessing no one will notice. I might go back this week and paint over it, we’ll see.
The next project is the granary. I never got the impression that Daryl liked this building because he always said that we should just tear it down. Kind of a good clue. But I like it, and if we did tear it down, what would we have but just an empty hole in our farm yard? So the roof was tinned last year and now she’s getting a fresh coat of paint on it. I’m betting it’s going to look nice!
I couldn’t figure out what happened to the chickens today. We always get around 8 to 10 eggs a day (not bad for about 12 layers) but today we only got 3. I think what happened is that they were so upset that we were messing with the window yesterday, so today we got less eggs. I’m hoping that tomorrow they’ll get back on track.
