Sunday

Today we did a bunch of different things. After church,  Daryl, William, and I worked on painting the chicken coop. This spring I took the windows out and put up chicken wire to keep it cooler inside.  But the problem that I was having last week when I was painting by myself was how I was going to take off the wire and keep the chickens inside? So today Daryl took the chicken wire off the outside and put it up inside temporary with a couple of nails to hold it when we did the window trim. Sure beats the idea of stapling old bed sheets inside when I painted! We wanted to get it all done today but didn’t quite make it. The only thing left on this building is the trim around the roof and I want to get that done tomorrow. I hope to have pictures of it posted  – but be ready because it’s looking pretty awesome!
Then in the afternoon we went on a bike ride. One of our routes that we like is the ride from Fort Atkinson, Spillville, Hungry Lane road, and then back to Fort. We haven’t been able to ride at all during the week,  so it felt good today to get out. Ragbrai is getting closer and closer so when we were riding I tried to work harder and keep the gears up one level and pushed. I think it’s a lot like cramming for a big test. The closer it gets – the harder you work. We’ll find out in about a month if my theory works.  It tried to rain on us a couple of times but then we have to get ready for that also. We usually get rained on or a storm comes up at least once during that week of the ride. I’ve attached a couple of pictures that I took today so show how nice this route is.
Then off to a graduation party in town after a we got cleaned up. Our last party of this graduating class and next year it’ll be our turn with William. Yikes – I don’t want to think about that now or I’ll freak out. Lots to do, lots to do.
To end the day, Daryl and I came home, made some popcorn and rented a movie.
Now that’s a good Sunday.
