Daryl and I ran to town late yesterday afternoon, and along the road he saw a corn planter that was for sale. He knew that he was going to go to an auction on Saturday, but he called this farmer just to see how much he was asking for it, and to get some of the details. Well, he went to the auction today to hopefully bid on a different planter and everything went way over what it should have, and needless to say, he didn’t get that planter. So he called the guy back that had the one in his farm yard to see if he could talk about how much he was asking for his planter that he had for sale. He stopped in again at this guys farm on the way home to look at it again and luck was on both their sides. They were both there at the same time and Daryl ended up buying it. He might change the fertilizer from dry to liquid, but at least if he wants to do this he’ll have some time before planting season is here. He told me know that he bought this one, I wouldn’t have to go back to that auction that I’ve gone to a couple of times when they have their next one in April. I said that I might just go and see if they had a small cattle trailer. You just never know when you might need one!
We also have our next load of lumber for the fence that needs to be replaced ready to go. There was some conversations if we were going to put in iron gates (not MY vote) or if we’d replace it with wooden planks. We’re going with the wooden fence. I’m sure that it’ll look so much better than the gates!
