Tables, Gardens, and Kyle

I sanded that old table that I got from the Court House this weekend, and off to the Hardware Store to buy some paint. I haven’t been in there for sometime and they were asking just what have I been doing? (sometimes I wonder the same thing)  I am always so amazed when I go into this store because it usually has a lot of people walking around in it and checking out the good deals. Yesterday there was around 25 people in it buying anything from paint to garden seeds. So with my paint in hand, I came home to see how I can make my table beautiful again. I painted the red part first, and it was trying to rain all day today so needless to say the paint didn’t dry as well as I wanted it. I just have to be patient before I can paint the black part of it. I’m not sure if I’m going to put some decorations on the legs or not. I guess I’ll just wing it when I get to that point.

With the nice weather, William wanted to burn his garden to get rid of the old seeds leftover from last summer and he also was burning the Christmas tree that was put by the garden for the winter. Man oh man did he have a fire! We were talking to Kyle and Allie (Kyle’s girlfriend) when I looked out and all I saw was smoke and then there was huge flames! William said that he was starting a fire, and I guess he did. Most of everything did burn tonight, but I hope tomorrow to rake the garden to get the small stuff cleaned up and then he can light it again one last time before it gets planted.

Smoke at first

20 foot fire going strong!

William also helped me set up our new laptop. I was getting pretty nervous on my old one because it was starting to freeze up and with some gift cards that I had for awhile in hand, we went to town to check out the one that they had in their sales flyer. It looked like a pretty good deal and so I bought it. William put everything back on it that I’ll need, and I’m amazed how much faster it is working. I wish I had the next set of pictures done tonight so I could start scanning them in to see if that’ll go faster. It should. I’ll also have to work on transferring the files from the old computer to an external hard drive. It’s not too many and I should have done it before now anyway. This way I have a good reason to get it done.

We talked to Kyle and Allie tonight and everything in Canada is going well for them. We told Kyle that once he’s back in Iowa, we’ve got somethings that we’re hoping that he’ll help with. He’s still not sure on his plans for the summer/fall yet, but there is one thing that he’s sure about. He’s sure hoping to get back to Canada to visit Allie again.
