We have been waiting and waiting for our electrician to come and wire up the Roadhouse. They came in December to look at it, and haven’t been back since. So on to the next plan. My brothers gave me a name of someone who also does electrical work on the side and I called him last night. He came over today and took a look what was needed and he wasn’t sure if he would have time to get it done. I told him that I didn’t know much about the wiring part, but I could sure help him hold stuff if he needed that, or to run to town to pick up something that he needed. I also said that if he had time to do it, that I’d cook for him. He just looked at me and I think he even looked a little scared. But he finally said that he’d do it, and we made a list of what we needed to buy for the job at the hardware store. We’ll get that this weekend and he thought he’d come next week to start. Yea!!
Another thing that happened was my Amish guy called who worked on the trampoline cover. I was just thinking about this yesterday, and was wondering how I would get a hold of him to see how it’s going. They aren’t allowed to have phones at their community and I’ve stopped in before at his shop and no one is around. So I’m kind of excited to see how he did and how he was able to fix it. I’m also excited that he remembered that it was mine. If you remember when I brought it in last winter, he had me sign my name on a seed corn little notebook and said that he would remember that it was mine. His shop was really messy and I thought that this was the last time I’ll see that tarp cover. But I was wrong about that and I have no idea how he did call me, but I’m picking it up on Thursday.
I’m still working on transferring the slides that I got from my Mom on to my computer. I try to only do one hour a day, otherwise I can spend the whole day there if I left myself. I looked today and saw that I’ve done over 450 so far and almost half done. I’ve also started with William’s photos and am almost halfway done with that. Tomorrow I need to order some more photo sleeves for Williams photos, and I’m happy how far this has come. You know that I’ve been putting it off for quite awhile. Shock I know!
Tonight we also went to our last Parent Teachers Conference at our school. It was both sad and a happy at the same time. The happy part was that we’re ready for our next step in our life and the sad part is that ….. we’re starting the next step in our life. Sounds kind of weird, but we both had mixed emotions about it. I’m sure once we start with William’s college activites next year, the next step will get easier. He already said that he’ll be looking for the boxes from home like I sent Kyle when he was in college. But until then, we’ve still got a couple of months left to have a reason to hang out at our school.
