WHAT ?

Am I on a Twilight Zone movie and just don’t know it? Yesterday I spent the afternoon mowing and when I came to the house to get cleaned up, I found a pile of dirt by our front steps. I also found the guilty animal that did it. Apollo.

So I’m thinking  – don’t make a big deal out of it. Our dogs have never dug any holes in their lives, so this time isn’t the end of the world. But when I woke up this morning and I checked outside to see what the weather was like – I almost DIED!  Apollo who still didn’t find what he was looking for yesterday,  continued to dig throughout the night. He dug out all the top soil and hit the gravel that was underneath when we remodeled. He must have thrown the dirt so high because it was all the way up by our front door!  What is going on and what is he looking for? We live on a farm and have acres to dig holes, why on earth dig a hole in the front of our house … and for 18 inches deep! So this morning I found my gopher shovel and put all the dirt and gravel back into the hole. It’s supposed to rain today and what a mess this would be if I didn’t get it halfway back to normal. I’m going to pull all the dirt out of it this afternoon if the weather holds out and put black dirt in with new flowers. Naughty, naughty dog!

What I found this morning
