I decided that this week I was going to try to get some things done that I’ve put off for some time now. So the first task that I started with was the old reel to reel tapes. I found someone on the internet that I trusted and after I called them, I made the commitment to send the tapes to them. Now I am the first one to say that I get extremely weird on both pictures and tapes that I have. I always have been over protective on lending them out and probably will always be. So this is a big step for me to actually send them out. I filled out my paperwork and calling them again, I went to the post office to get a priority box to put this film in. Then our tapes went off to Ohio in the MAIL! . This all happened yesterday and today I got an email saying that they got my information on the package coming and they were sorry but they don’t make DVD’s for film with talking on them. OK, this is where I panicked. I replied back to their email and asked if they would watch for my box and send it back to me because I sent it already. They said that this won’t be a problem, but I’m holding my breath until I get them back. Taking risks are so over rated!
The next thing that I wanted to work on was another kind of video tapes that I have. I spent longer than I should have trying to figure out how to make it work with our TV,VCR, and Dish. When I was just about to give up, I decided I’d try one last thing. I got out an old TV from storage and tried that with the camera and I got it to work! YEA!! Small victory for me. So I started to run the tape and I had to force myself not to sit down and watch the movie. I plan on putting some software on my laptop and then ‘hopefully’ transfering the VCR tape video to the computer. This is tomorrows job and I hope it works because I’ve got a stack of tapes to transfer to DVD’s.
