William didn’t have school today because of the snow that they were expecting to happen. We didn’t have too much snow when we were just getting up, but soon after it really started to let loose. So after morning chores, I decided to work on the old movie tapes that I had. Now you would think that there would be some kind of an answer to how I can get these transferred to a DVD – but no! The only answer that I could come up with is to send them to a company in Ohio to get transferred. If they were just tapes of everyday stuff, I wouldn’t even bother. But you know when you’re looking at something and you know that even though you’ll only watch it once in awhile – it will still be worth it. Well that’s how I feel about these tapes. So after calling the company to get more of the specifics, I decided that I’m going to go ahead with sending them to them. If I get to the post office in the morning, I’ll pick up a box and send them out tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll get them sent in the beginning of next week.
But then… either good luck or bad luck, I found two more tapes that were never developed. So I called another company that I found on the web and you know it’s going to be a bad thing when you ask if they know of anyone who develops these tapes and they just literally laugh at you and say that you’re 30 years too late. Not good. The reason is because the technology has disappeared and only a couple of people in the country do it anymore. Well I got a lead from the laughing guy on a business who develops these movie reels in California and they can do it. But it does cost a lot. So I’m going to think about developing these two tapes and maybe get them developed later this summer.
With the snow that we got today, tonight both Daryl and William worked on getting the yard cleaned out. Daryl was on the tractor with the bucket and did the driveway while William was using the skid loader and cleaned up around the house. It’s a good thing done and the weather isn’t supposed to be bad for the rest of the weekend. Hopefully the yard will stay cleaned for some at least a couple of days.
