Well I tried to burn the garden today and I think it’s safe to say that I will never be called a pyromaniac. I couldn’t get it to burn very well, so I gathered up all my recycled newspapers and tried to get her going with them. But all I could get was smoke. And a lot of it! You know it never fails that when you have smoke in your yard, the next thing that you plan to do is right smack in the middle of it! I wanted to clean out the storage shed where the tomato cages go and then put them away for the winter. Well the crates were right in the path of the smoke. Man did I stink! I did get the cages put away and then I came in to get cleaned up. I took everything and threw it in the washing machine and then I headed into the shower. You would have sworn that I was standing on top of the smoke the way that I was smelling – but after the shower I couldn’t smell it anymore. Thank goodness. Since I was cleaned up , I thought I might as well do some errands. The grocery store is having a pretty good sale for Thanksgiving so I went to pick up something that I’ll need for the Thanksgiving dinner.

When I came home I decided to bite the bullet and start to work on our Christmas cards. We have always taken a family picture as long as I can remember. I’m not sure if we’ve taken one every year but I think it’s pretty close to every year since Kyle was born (25 years ago). This year we won’t be able to get together as a family, so we won’t have a chance to take a picture. It’s not like it’s the end of the world, but I just couldn’t get myself to figure out what we were going to do. So I sat down this afternoon and put somethings together and I like how the card turned out. I ended up ordering it tonight and I hope I like them when I get them.
I also found a spot for my new stand that I got at the antique store the other day. I told Daryl that I didn’t know that I wanted to move the small table out of the other bathroom until I saw that the new stand worked so good in it’s spot. I put the small table beside our couch and it looks pretty good there. My new stand is a porch shaving stand. It was used when men wanted to shave and they moved this stand out on the porch to shave with. I’m working on getting some bowls that I like in it and then I’ll take a picture of it.
