The reason that I didn’t post yesterday was because of technical problems. See, William ‘lost’ his power cord for his computer and borrows mine everyday. So yesterday he left his laptop at school plugged in and then I didn’t have one for last night. No big deal, but I think I’m actually going to break down and buy another one. My sister had a new power cord sent to he by mistake this week and she SENT IT BACK! Can you believe it? She knew that she didn’t order it so she sent it back. It turned out that it was her son’s power cord for their laptop that they were wondering what in the world happened to it. When they found out that it was sent to her and she sent it back, they couldn’t believe it. Now I’m thinking that power cord would have worked really well for me! He son wanted it because they ordered it. Oh well. But this sharing thing for William and I is not working out lately and I’ll just have to not be so cheap and buy a new one.
So what happened yesterday was I continued to paint the trim on the farrowing house and when Daryl came home he got out the sprayer again and worked on the sides. I was having the worst time with the wind and after the second time the ladder fell, I moved to the other side. When I would get off the ladder, BAM! it would hit the ground. It’s already bent from smashing to the ground, so it’s nothing new to have it do it again. I tried to be patient and I have quite honestly been doing pretty good. But I didn’t do so well with this ladder thing and painted the other side.
I also got out my stash of tomatoes out of the basement. These are the ones that I’ve been trying to get to ripen. I was surprised on how many actually did. They don’t seem to have as much taste as if they would ripen in the sunshine, but they still tasted good on my salad.
Our days have been busy lately with the upcoming Musical at our High School. Normally you have only one person in your house that’s in the musical, but for our house.. we have two. Both William and Daryl are both in it. This is the first year that adults were asked to help. They were asked to help because they need a quartet to sing (they’re doing Music Man) and they didn’t have enough of the kids from school to do that role. At first Daryl wasn’t sure about being in it, but I know that he’s glad now that he is in it. The only adults in it are four for the quartet. The musical is next week, so our schedule at our house is: everyone up at (or before) 6:15 and if you are taking a shower you need to be done by 6:30 am, then I make William breakfast to eat on the way to school and both of them leave the house by 6:45. Then Daryl usually gets home from work before William and we work on painting the shed until it’s supper time. Daryl gets cleaned up from painting, William looks at his homework, we hurry to eat supper and then Daryl leaves for the play practice (5:45 pm) and then William leaves (6:15 pm). In between there, I make sure that everyone has their costumes ready and if everyone can find their play books. The musical is next week and what I’m working on is trying to figure out what to serve for the cast party. I think I’ve got my menu pretty much done and it won’t be very hard to make. So the only thing left to do is to enjoy the Musical next week!
my uncle got a few tomatoes that were making their last gasp this week and sent them over to me. i just hate that the season is about over. store bought tomatoes just do not taste the same… sigh.
