Check it out!

I promised a picture of our barn and you might need to sit down for this one. If you’re ready – check it out!

Before picture

and now….

WOW!

We worked hard getting the top of barn painted. We used the ladder on the bucket and painted most of it. But we couldn’t get the top painted using this,  so we got the ladder as high as we could and then took an extension paint brush and reached up to the peak and then we finally got it painted! At first Daryl wanted to just leave the peak go and not paint it. No Way! We’ve come so far and this last building not finish it? Well that really wasn’t an option and I’m so glad we got it all painted.

So today we worked on the farrowing house. We did get everything primed on the shed but didn’t get it all painted. What a pain!! I started to prime this morning while Daryl was still at work. I was kinda nervous because I’ve never really painted with the sprayer before, but after about 5 minutes – no problem. Daryl did take a half day of vacation and was able to help with getting the rest of the shed primed. Then we went to see if the combine was done at the shop (brakes needed to be fixed) and it wasn’t . So then we headed to New Hampton to get Daryl’s tractor that was getting fixed. I started to paint the red on the shed on the bottom trim and also on the top trim . I figured that when Daryl came home he could just paint in the middle. It was really working well until……. the stupid gasket came out of the top of the spray can. We worked and worked on trying to get it back in but after about 45 minutes, I finally gave up. I don’t have any idea why putting this back on why so hard, but it is not a very good design. I cleaned up the paint stuff when Daryl headed into school for music practice. He said he’s going to work on it when he gets home – I sure hope he has better luck than I did. I attached a picture of the farrowing house primed. It really looks weird white. We did get the east side painted red and some of the south side painted red before the sprayer broke. Hopefully we’ll have a couple of good days this week to get it finished.
