You know when you really want to show someone something and you have to wait just a little bit more, you think you are going to not be able to wait right? Well that’s why I’m learning patience these past two days. Daryl and I finished painting the west side of the barn on Saturday, but when I took the picture I realized that I didn’t have the one side painted with a white stripe. So instead of posting how great the barn looks, I have to wait until it’s completely finished. I wanted to paint today, but last night I knew that there was a chance of rain during the night and they really called that one good. It did rain so now I’m going to see if I can paint it tomorrow. It won’t take hardly anything to get it done, so if the weather is good then the barn will be complete!
We had the contractor come yesterday and look at the farrowing house to see if he would be able to put our windows and the garage door in. He said that it shouldn’t be a problem. I think it’s funny because he asked Daryl ‘just why are you doing all this work in this building’? Daryl told him that he bought an old car and that’s why we needed some place to store it. The contractor then understood completely when Daryl mentioned an old car. I really think all guys do think alike. I’m glad that we’re doing it because we really never used the building for along time and when we get done with it, I’m betting we’ll use it more than we thought we would.
So since we were all done painting the buildings – Guess what? We decided to paint the outside of the farrowing house. Too funny! Seeing how good all the rest of the buildings look, the farrowing house on the outside looks kind of bad (the tin is all faded). We went today to order the doors for the farrowing house and decided to pick up some metal primer for the outside of the building. It’s so expensive that we’re hoping that it’ll go a long way if we spray it on. Then after it’s primed we can use the paint that we’ve been using on the buildings to go over it. Neither Daryl or I ever painted a metal building before, but this is the year of firsts and I’m sure we’ll figure it out.
