Sleet and the Unemployment Office

Daryl took the afternoon off to do some field work and when he was driving home he saw some weird clouds over by our farm. You know when your’e driving and thinking to yourself, I think it’s going to rain soon. He said just as he was getting closer to our house it started to sleet! OK, this is bad. It didn’t last that long and he was able to get out in the field later to chisel plow.

He also changed oil in the Agco tractor tonight. This is the first time he’s changed oil in this tractor and was shocked on how much oil it took. It took about 8 gallons. The only thing that shocked me was how organized he put the empty containers and that the dogs didn’t take them and run away! He had a bunch of half empty containers of oil and wanted to use them up, so this was the perfect opportunity. The dogs never did take any of them away and I’ll get rid of them tomorrow before they figure out that they are there.

Today I spent the morning at the unemployment office. Yup, I’m still unemployed and am OK with that. I didn’t know how the extensions work if I wanted my unemployment to continue and today I figured it out. It looks like I’ll be unemployed for a little bit longer 🙂

Tonight’s dessert (not sure if it counts as a dessert) was popcorn balls. I made a new recipe and decided that they were too sticky. I’ll have to cook them longer next time. But for now, I’m taking one of those popcorn balls with a beer and going to take a bath.
