Milestone

So what does 100 gallons of paint mean to you?

Empty paint pails - 100 gallons

Well to me it means that I’ve hit a milestone on my project list. It means that I’ve accomplished something that I didn’t think that I would get done. The buildings are not completely done, but they have come so far and it’s hard to believe how good they look. I know that I’ve been doing this since May, and to be honest you could argue that I should maybe have more than 100 gallons painted so far. But I think I’ve done the best that I could have and I am holding my head up on this success! So what do I still have left? I’m painting in between the two cattle sheds and it’s sure giving me some trouble. But maybe this coming week the crazy wind will be better and I won’t have the issues that I’ve had with the ladder tipping while I’m on it. I also have a fuel barrel to paint red, along with the top of the barn left. Then the next project will be the farrowing house.

Looking Good!

I also canned the last of my tomatoes today. I made 3 batches and all the jars sealed but one. This is a good thing to have done because I really needed the room in my refrigerator. Daryl still is chopping stalks and is hoping to have bales made this weekend. The weather is supposed to be in the 60 degrees and that’s fantastic!

We got the first of William’s Senior pictures today along with his paperwork from Iowa State for college. He was accepted for Iowa State but we still need to do more paperwork along with getting all of his shots updated. I forgot how much paperwork there was to get done and get organized to go to college and also how fast the Senior year goes!
