Old Wives Tales

There’s  a lot of wives tales about everything, but since it’s been snowing and it did stick to the north side of the tree, that led me to investigate just what I could else that I could find out about these tales. The first two are easy ones. The one about the snow on the North side of the tree is that it’s supposed to be the last snowfall of the winter. (OK this one better be right!)

This band is huge! It looks like a long and hard winter is ahead for us

OK this one called it right! Next on my list was the storm we had last Thursday. Supposedly if it thunders and lightenings in February mark your calendar. The mark your calendar in May. On that day in May you are supposed to have frost. So as an experiment, mark your calendar for May 20th. Now we hope this one is wrong! The last one that I think is interesting. They say that if you kill a spider it’s supposed to rain. I think I’ll just have to keep my spring cleaning until July. I guess I’ll just have to take one for the team!
