Getting Ma out

We didn’t know if Ma was going to get out of the hospital today, but we were hoping that she would be able to. So Daryl and I put some gas in the car, grabbed some Diet Cokes and headed North. She went into the hospital over a week ago and is more than anxious to get out! That’s really an understatement to be honest. I think she was going to get out one way or another today. On the way to see her this morning we saw that the roads were not good and had a lot more snow than we thought there would be on them.  But if Daryl just drove a little slower it wasn’t too bad. We did laugh though when we saw this one car that kind of zipped by us and then up the road she started to spin. Everyone slowed down because the car was going sideways on the highway and then finally came to a dead stop in the snow banks on the wrong side of where she was going. She looked really mad and then she put it back into gear and spun out! We weren’t sure if she would get out but soon she passed us again and off she went. Daryl and I looked at each other and just laughed. The whole thing only lasted a couple of minutes. The one thing that we were glad was that no one hit her when she was spinning around the two lanes of the highway! Then it didn’t take too long to get to Ma’s room in the hospital and soon we had everything packed up and we headed home. We wanted to kill some time because the roads were not good on the way there so we were hoping they were better if we waited a little bit. And after some dinner we started to head home. The roads were better and we just could’t believe still how much snow was on the road. Check out the picture below. IMG_1350Our lane was partially covered and you had to cross over to the other side. Now it’s not too bad unless someone was coming! Another picture that I wanted to take was this one mailbox. we saw it on the way up to the hospital and I just couldn’t believe how much work it would be just to dig out your mailbox! Too funny! Daryl stopped along the side of the road and I jumped out to snap a picture.

The closer that we got to our home, the better the roads were. Ma got all settled in and I ended up staying over night just in case we had any questions that would come up during the night. Party at Ma’s!
