Arts and Crafts & Christmas cards tonight

I did some running around after work trying to find some ‘stuff’ to finish off some craft projects. Now who would have thought that a wooden yardstick would be so hard to find? Well, I think I might have one tucked away in a cupboard someplace. It’s one that we should probably get rid of anyway. We used it one time to measure carpet for a room and the oddest thing happened when the carpet was delivered. It was way too small. Now that didn’t make sense and to top it off, we were getting it from my brother in law so he really looked at us strange. What we found out was that our yard stick, which normally should be 36 inches, was a couple of inches shorter than that. So when we were thinking we were measure yards.. yea, you can see where the problem was. Since this episode of the two short of carpet, we now always have my brother in law measure the rooms. It seems to work much better! OK, so maybe I’ll see if I can find that short yard stick to cut up tomorrow night because there is no one that has one in town. But when I was looking for one in Good Will, I found the coolest chair. So I bought it. I’m not sure too many people would like it, but I do.  It’s another ‘project’. It looks like an old funeral chair, but it has some oil or grease spilled on the wooden back. I told the check out lady that if I can’t get the stain off, she’ll be seeing the chair donated again next week. After a hair cut and picking up some milk, I finally made it home for the night. Since last night we were able to get the lights on the garland, I wanted to get the rest of the house lights up. But we didn’t get that far. Daryl had all the dishes done, which was really nice and we spent some of the time tonight finishing up most of the Christmas cards.

Writing out Christmas cards - Done!

Writing out Christmas cards – Done!

We were lucky enough to get a family picture taken this summer when Kyle was home and I love having all of us on the picture. After the cards were done, next thing was to do arts and crafts. I wrapped my families gifts for St. Nick’s party, but will still need to wrap the girls gifts yet. I just ran out of time tonight. I ended the night ordering some pictures for my Aunt that she needs for this weekend. She’s giving the to her family for an  early Christmas gift.  And since I was ordering her pictures, I ordered a large poster of William from Sunday cutting down our Christmas tree to put in an old window that I bought awhile back. Yup, you guessed it. Another craft project. Man, I really wish there was more time in the day or maybe a better idea is to just to have more energy to get everything done ! But it’s almost midnight and I better hit the sack. Last work day tomorrow for the week. Yea!!
