Daryl is still in the hospital and I decided that tonight I should just stay home and see if he can get a good night sleep. He hasn’t sleep much (or any!) since he’s been in, so a good night sleep would do him good.
So I decided that I needed to try to get somethings done before he does come home. I did a couple of things outside, liked putting some extra insulation on the water lines by the Roadhouse and checking the chicken coop over. I’ve got to get some plastic on those windows before it really gets cold or worse … snows. Maybe I’ll get that done yet this week. We’ve been having some crazy wind lately and you know how much I just love wind! Not!! Anyway, trying to put up plastic on the windows wouldn’t work very well at all until the wind dies down. I found a couple of chickens roosting in the barn these last couple of days. Now they’re not dummies. There is fresh water, a bin of ground corn, and dog food. To be honest, the dog food is probably their #1 choice. Weird, I know. OK, so I got somethings done outside and headed inside for craft night. I needed to get a couple of things knocked off my ‘to do’ list, and tonight would be a great night to do that. But first, I was getting pretty hungry and to get that over with before I started with the projects. I didn’t really see anything that I was hungry for, so I settled. Now I learned something about myself tonight. I learned that if it was just going to be me for suppers – I think I would get a score of an F. Why? Well, I didn’t think that much of it when I was eating supper, but after I got done eating I realized that a bowl of cereal, potato chips, and a beer isn’t really a supper worth a higher score than an F. Oh well. I did make it up by baking some banana bread. I even added chocolate chips to it to give it a different taste. I also couldn’t find a pan to bake it in, so I used my cast iron skillet and it worked great! That was the first time I’ve ever done that, and with banana bread it really cooked it even.
Now to work on some craft projects. I could hear Little Kitty scratching on the window, so both the cat and the dog came in to keep me company. By the end of the night, I was successful in getting almost 7 projects done. Shazam! I was so tired by bed time, I know that I didn’t move at all during the night. Check out my two helpers while Daryl is gone.
