Back to reality – Monday

Sunday the weather was absolutely perfect! Little wind and the weather temperature I think was around in the 70’s. So with the good weather, also comes farmers in the field. And that’s exactly where Daryl was. He’s trying to get most of his crops out in these next couple of weeks, so that means any good weather, you’ll find him driving some kind of vehicle in the field. But then, you’ll see a lot of farmers in the fields these days. They usually get worried if it starts to rain or gets really windy and blows the corn down, it’s so much easier to get it out of the fields now. So while he was shelling corn, I spent most of the day just putsing around the house and farm. I did get quite a bit of stuff done, and I even got a good run in later in the afternoon. I haven’t been running as often as I would like (or should!) and I could really tell. I put some laundry on the line and cleaned up a little in the Road House. They were talking possibly rain tonight, but it was late when I realized that I should take the laundry off the line –  so I left it there for tomorrow.

Today was back to work and it sure felt like a Monday. I laughed when I got home from work and was in the kitchen. When William was home this past weekend, he said that both Reno the dog and Little Kitty were spoiled. So while I was in the kitchen tonight, Little Kitty was trying to figure out why he wasn’t in there with me. OK, maybe he’s a little spoiled.

Now honestly, how can you say no to this?

Now honestly, how can you say no to this?

Then later on while I was sitting on the couch, Reno was more than anxious to get my attention and ended up sitting on the cat so he wouldn’t get in the way or any more attention. Now that’s pretty funny!

And speaking of Reno, while  I was talking to my sister tonight, I ended up yelling at the dog. The reason was because she was eating the cats food. But to be fair to her,  the outside cats eat the dog’s food, the chickens eat the cows corn, the cows eat the apples, the Peacocks eat the cat’s food, and the cat? Well he eats bacon. 🙂

After work,  Daryl headed out in the field again to work on the crops, and I decided that I better bring in the laundry that I hung out yesterday. But with it being windy on the farm again today, it took out my close line! Daryl said that it wasn’t going to be too hard to fix and he just needed to put in a pipe or something. Yea, another reason to hate wind! My list just grows and grows on that subject!

Not cool at all.

Not cool at all. Also check out how many apples are again on the ground. Yikes!

So as I’m typing this upstairs in the Craft Room,  I can hear Daryl outside just finishing up unloading corn in the bin. The auger just shut off and at first I’m thinking that he’s going to call it a night. But now I can hear the tractor and wagon pulling out of our driveway and I guess it looks like another late night for him. As for me? I made a different batch of breakfast bars that I just took out of the oven and the house smells wonderful. The dog is laying on the living room floor downstairs and Little Kitty is on the blanket on the couch. All in all it’s a pretty cozy Autumn day at the farm.
