I wanted to paint the tractor panel for Daryl today, so I got everything ready. I set up my station on the kitchen table (where else?) and got ready. I knew that it was going to be a challenge to keep all the lines straight, so I added a LED table light that William gave me for the craft room. The weather was kind of rainy and gloomy outside, so I needed something else other than the ceiling lights. Then I started to paint. I was kind of nervous because I never did anything like this before, but it was kind of fun! The colors were perfect, but because the paint was completely off the metal in some spots and it was 44 years old and everything, I figured it was going to need a couple of coats. When Daryl came into the kitchen after I was working on it for about 2 hours, he asked if I wanted the other one also? What? What do you mean ‘the other one‘? He said that there was two panels that needed to get painted. OK, that makes sense, but I didn’t think of that when I said that I’d paint them. But as the afternoon turned in the evening, I had at least 4 coats of paint on it and it was looking pretty good if I say so myself! I will need one more coat yet of the white and then I’m going to seal it. I don’t know how long it’ll last, but at least for the first couple of years – she’s going to look mighty fine.
After I put away the paint for this project, I started on another Birthday gift for my friend. I’ll finish that up tomorrow, and I hope it looks OK. I guess I’ll know more tomorrow.
