I was hoping that my niece and nephew would be able to come over to our house and spend some time before school started, and last night they were able to come over and stay over night. We turned our living room into a camp site and inflated a couple of air mattresses for the night. They both were pretty tired, so they fell asleep pretty fast. Today was a busy day. After a morning of arts and crafts, doing chores, and then playing video games, we decided to take a break and have some dinner. I was thinking that we’d go to town and get something, but I soon found out that potato and ham soup sounded much better to them. Then the real work started. I bought material to make a couple of tied fleece blankets and to my surprise – there was a lot of material that needed to be tied! As I was working on getting it all pieced together before we tied it, I was thinking that the sales person must have been working on commission. But after we figured out how to get it started, the work went fast. The one that we made was a frog one and the other one had fireman on it. It was really kind of fun once we got started and could see the progress. Since they were so big, I decided that we’d work on them in the Roadhouse and it really worked out very well. I sure am glad that we fixed up that old Farrowing House. After the blankets were made, the kids spent some time watching a movie and eating freeze pops in the Roadhouse. Life is sure good when you are a kid in the summer isn’t it? Anyway, we didn’t have time to have a bonfire before they had to head home, so I hope we can have them over some other time to roast some marshmallows.
William was excited today because he got his new laptop computer for school. He special ordered it and is hoping that it’ll last him all four years of college. So am I.
