Working on finishing up some things

During the night it rained, so that meant that there was no picking rock for William today. This was a good thing because he needed to get his Thank You’s done from his graduation. After 6 hours sitting at the kitchen table, he has them all done but three. These three he still needs to find the addresses for them.  It worked pretty well today. As he wrote them out, I looked up the address for him to write. Like I said, it was a good thing done. If the guests thought enough to come and then to give money – I think it should be expected that they get a Thank You from the graduate.

I also had a chance to talk with Kyle this morning. He was on the internet when I was, so we Skyped. It was fun to see him again, and guess who was with him? The little orange kitty. It’s looking kind of big by now, and I took a picture of him holding it – but the picture didn’t turn out too well.  It looks like he’ll be able to come home for the Kuehner reunion in a couple of weeks, which is great news! Allison won’t be able to come because she just started an acting job, so that’s kind of a bummer for us. But I’m sure glad that we had a chance to meet her, and spend some time with her while she stayed in Iowa.

I worked some in the garden tonight. I wanted to weed the lettuce that was just coming up and give it some room. I also saw that my peas are just coming up. Yea! I’ll give them a couple of days to see how well they do. We had a late supper tonight because Daryl loaded out a couple of loads of corn. I’m not sure why when you transfer corn it has to have the wind blowing directly at you with all the corn dust, but tonight it held it’s promise and we were covered from head to toe by the time we were done. So I quick made some sausage and scrambled eggs for supper. It’s probably not the best supper we’ve ever had – but then it’s also probably not the worst. Since we always try to keep the egg shells for the garden, I asked William now that the garden is up, should I still put them in it? So onto his phone he went, and found out that if you put crushed egg shells around your plants, when the bugs crawl over them they get cut and won’t want to do it again. Sounds kinda mean doesn’t it? Oh well, so tomorrow I’m putting these egg shells around my tomato plants and see if this works or not.
