Cement trucks

The weather was on our side today, and we were able to get the cement poured. Because we didn’t want the dogs to get into the new cement, they were supposed to be in the barn for the day. They didn’t like this at all. I finally moved them when I looked over to the barn because they were whining so bad, and saw Reno sticking her face out the one part of the gutter, just begging to get out. So I put a leash on both of them, and into the outside kennel they went for the afternoon. Tomorrow morning they will get out of jail and I’m sure they’ll be excited.

Second trip for the cement truck today

The cement pouring went really good and we’re happy on how it looks. They stenciled the top of the cement and will need to come back tomorrow to put some cuts on it so it doesn’t crack. I think I’ll check on tomorrow some brick for the fire pit. We need something that will take the heat and not wreck the new cement. Daryl was able to get some black dirt from the other farm today, but it’s going to take some work to get the grass out of it. I’ll need it to fill in one spot for the lawn by the patio, and then along the south side of both the house and Roadhouse. Then, after some small painting jobs, and installing our inside sink and finishing our floor – we’ll be done.

As for the little kitty, since the dogs were locked up today, I thought it was a good time for her to just hang out. Even though she insisted coming inside the house every time the door opened, she did eventually decide to hide in the outside rug to stay out of the wind. But tonight, she laid by me by the fireplace and I’m thinking she likes being inside so much better than the outside.
