Even though today was windy again, I was lucky that it really didn’t bother me like it had yesterday. It pretty much stayed on the south side of the barn and I painted on the north side. Only once did the ladder kind of move a little with the wind, so that wasn’t so bad. So here are the pictures from today:
After I got done painting, I stood back and thought that this was a good job done. I love our barn and a couple of years ago Daryl and I had to make the decision if we were going to fix it up or let it go. It needed a lot of work at the time and we just didn’t have the money set aside for a renovation. But we did fix it up and had someone straighten it by putting in large braces inside the loft and then a new roof. I’m so glad that we did! Even though it’s major use is for housing puppies, I think it really sets off our farm and I would hate it if we didn’t have it.
So the question is ‘What else is there to paint?’ Well I still have in between the cattle sheds left along with some white tops on the building by the road. Then somehow we have to paint the west side of the barn. The first ones will be easier to paint than the west side of the barn. That’s going to take either us renting something or some creative thinking with the ladders and tractor bucket. Then it’ll be time to get more paint and start in the farrowing house because we still are planning on getting that fixed up before winter.
wow! you have really out done yourself! something to be proud of. good job!
Thanks! I think it looks really good but then I also think I might be a little biased!
