I got up early this morning because I needed to get the candy platter done for a shower at a local winery. I did make some candy ahead of time, but there was some things that I didn’t want to. I never sold dipped strawberries before and wasn’t sure how many to put on this platter. I’ve got quite a few of them left over and William is thinking that this was a good deal. So I’m meeting the lady who’s picking the candy up at 10:30 and then I’m going over to my Uncle’s wake in a town close to that. It seems like more and more people are having funerals at Saturday, and I think it makes sense. That way more people can come. But my Uncle didn’t have a wake until before the funeral and we have a wedding later this afternoon. My uncle died on his birthday – he was 97. Then after that visitation, off to my niece’s wedding. It will take about 2 hours to get to the church, so I’m typing this dressed all ready for the day. We won’t be able to stay at the church long because we have to get to western Iowa by tonight. Why? Well our bike ride -Ragbrai starts tomorrow and we’re meeting the rest of our riders in the beginning town. Whew! All our bags are packed and all our clothes are set out so all we have to do is to change from our wedding clothes to our biking clothes. Fun day! I think I’ll need to put a couple of Diet Cokes in the car though!
