What a fun last couple of days we had. William and I went to his college’s orientation for this coming fall semester at his school. Daryl wasn’t able to go, so we went with two other families. The campus is so nice, and even though I thought that I would get so turned around in it, it really wasn’t too bad. It just seems so big on the map we were given! The first day was all about going to some presentations – some just information and some were required. The kids got their schedules to meet with their advisers, which was going to happen today. They didn’t do too bad hanging out with the ‘Moms’ on the first day, but you know how quickly that could turn on you. By today, they were just trying to fit in, and let me say that having your Mom around really wasn’t the cool thing to do. But everyone survived and when the boys were at their class scheduling meeting, we explored a little bit of downtown and gave them some room. I’ve never really done much in Ames before, but I’ve got a feeling that this might just change in the next few years. I took a picture of William (on the first day of course) in front of one of the halls on the campus. The boys all seem to be ready for this next step in their lives, but you know what? I’m not sure that all the Mom’s are ready for it. Especially this one!
Another graduation party finished up the night tonight. They had perfect weather, and a really nice party. Just a few more to go to yet this month and then it’ll all be just memories.
This is a great picture!
