Update

So how is Stormy doing today? Well, when I woke up this morning, I grabbed a jacket and went out in the barn still in my pj’s. I just never know what I’ll find when I walk into that barn anymore. When I came up to the cattle pen, there was Stormy just hanging out. He looked fat and happy. If I knew that was going to be the outcome, I could have saved myself a whole lot of time! No Ears went out on the cattle floor for awhile to get some fresh air, but Stormy wouldn’t go out. Then after awhile, in came No Ears and all is well in our barn again. Whew, what a ride!

I took the big plunge today. I ordered carpet for the Roadhouse. I don’t know why this made me so nervous, but it did. I guess I would never have expected that we would be putting carpet in there, and I didn’t want to mess it up.  The carpet will come in about 10 days,  so I have a week to get the inside foundation painted, along with the part of the floor we’re not going to carpet. We decided that we weren’t going to carpet under where Daryl’s car is parked to save us some money. I want to paint some kind of a design on the floor, but haven’t made up my mind yet. I’ll try to scope out designs the web after the Theatrical Performance tonight at school.

I also made some candy today, and I don’t like to brag… but that was THE best caramel that I’ve made so far. Everything was just going right in the kitchen, and the caramel is exactly how I would like it to turn out every time. I need the caramel for some turtles that I’m making for tomorrow. Then will be the big test to see when I put it on the display if everything stays together. Man I sure hope it does. I don’t have a back up plan if it doesn’t, and I need to have it delivered in the afternoon. I’ll post a picture tomorrow on what I’ve been trying to create. Hopefully you’ll be able to tell what it is.

For dinner today, my two brothers and I went to my Mom’s for soup. Now this isn’t just any ordinary soup. It is homemade noodle soup. It is the BEST!  My one brother called to say that she was going to make it for dinner and then my other brother called to say that they were just starting to eat.. and if I wanted to come to Ma’s for dinner – I better get there. So after the carpet was ordered, I headed to Ma’s and the soup was still warm just waiting for me. Yumm. Sometimes I forget that I’m unemployed because the days are so full – but on a day like today when you get to go to your Mom’s for one of your favorite meals, it’s a really good day!
