Memories

I think there are a lot of things that as we go through life we want to try remember and think about every now and then. We think about the details of when we were a kid, growing up and having fun and not really caring about much, other than the long summer days of not having school. We also want to remember as we get older the first dates that we went on and everything about our wedding day. Then things get a little busy. You move into your first house as a married couple and all the firsts that the kids bring along. You know – first tooth, walking, talking, and then girlfriends. Then all of a sudden your kids are making their own memories and now you are trying to figure out how to make yours with your husband and others.  I have a memory that was so much fun  – it’s the memory of working on the Extreme Home Makeover show in West Union this fall. I knew that it would be a good time, but never imagined that we’d have as much fun as we did that night being able to help with the house. Tonight was the television premiere of the filming and I can honestly say it was almost as much fun watching the show as it was actually doing the work that night. With tons of anticipation, and the VCR set along with the DVR – I was ready to tape and watch it. We haven’t used the VCR for a long time now and I was pretty nervous on making sure that I knew what I was doing. After a couple of ‘practice runs’, I was ready. All during the show when there would be a commercial on, my sister and I would be texting each other commenting on things that the show was about. We never did make the CVS commercial – but we were on the reveal when they were shouting  – ‘Move that bus!’. And now that it’s over and truly just a memory,  I’m glad that it’s my memory and I hope that I can always keep it close to me.

Other things going on today – I was procrastinating about boxing up the Christmas tree ornaments so I rearranged the living room furniture instead. I know that the Christmas stuff should have happened – but you really need to be in the mood.. and I wasn’t. I didn’t know if Daryl would even notice that I changed the room around, but when he came home from work he said that he liked it.     Huh.

That was so much fun doing the Extreme Makeover and just as much fun watching it tonight! –I think the last time I was up that late–what was it — 4 a.m.?? I think I was giving birth!! It was neat to see everything that we were a part of.
After we were finished with our shift, remember when Janice slipped in the hot tub from a sitting position–I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time!!
I kept watching for the CVS Pharmacy commercial, too. I was “sucking in” so hard so I wouldn’t look fat on t.v.–almost made myself sick!!!! I’m also glad Brock and his sign made the show–I don’t think he’ll ever forget it. He’s taking his sign to school again on Monday.
    SUPER MEMORIES!!!!
