We haven’t had much of a chance lately to take the Chevelle out and just drive around. But this afternoon the weather looked like it was going to cooperate and it didn’t take long until I could hear the car sitting in the driveway. Now when I say that I could literally hear the car in the driveway, I seriously mean it. It’s one of those cars that for some reason just kind of roars. I think it’s a guy thing if you ask me.
But who cares right? We were off to find a new place for dinner. We got to the highway and have you ever looked east and then looked west and was wondering which way you should go? You kind of look like you’re in a movie or something at the fork in the road. Well if you have done this before, then you’ll know what I’m talking about when I said we got to the stop sign and ‘took a look both ways’
We decided to head Northwest to a town that we didn’t even know if they had a restaurant or not, but it was a road trip and seriously who cares right? Worse case is that we grab something from a gas station. But we did find a very busy drive in and that was the spot for us.
The food was great (notice the ice cream sundae with chocolate and caramel, then topped in pecans and whipped topping – yea.. that’s mine!!) and since we were in the neighborhood of where some of Daryl’s family lives, we spent the afternoon having a fun visit with them.
Now we did run into some spotted rain showers, but we got home in time before the next front came through. Even though the clouds were a little intimidating, they were also pretty cool. Check them out.
The reason that they were even more cool was that we didn’t get any type of storm with the front that was passing through. Thank goodness! You could just feel the weather changing and that’s never a good thing!
love those pics of the sky and windmill! looks like you found a cool place to eat and the car fit right in. we drove down to the river on saturday and ate outside at a biker bar, of all things, called the Hawg Pit. it really was a neat place and they had a band outside. we sat between the band and the mississippi river and watched the boats go by.
