I thought this one would be easier to guess.
Here is the clue
And this is what it was. 
It’s an old oil lamp that Daryl’s folks used when they were on the farm. We’ve also used it when the last ice storm went through and took out the electricity for the night. There’s something about the light that you get from having these lamps lit that makes you forget that you’re out of electricity!
