I knew that the amount of paint that I had left would be close to getting the Roadhouse done, and I didn’t want anymore paint sitting around if I didn’t have to. So I tried to paint the foundation with only one gallon of paint, and wouldn’t you know it… I ran out this afternoon. So tomorrow I’ll get another gallon and finish painting the side foundation and repainting the window trim. I also need to get something better for the cracks that I bought earlier. What I bought was wayyyy too runny and I spent most of the afternoon checking on it and making sure that it didn’t run out of the cracks. I was only partially successful, and always kept a paper towel handy if the sealant was running. So I’ll have to pick something different to seal those side cracks tomorrow when I’m at the hardware store.
Kyle helped me out for awhile before he went rock picking and cut down all the old plastic pipes that were still sticking out of the floor cement. But when he got done, I realized that the extra water and gunk that’s left in it will need to be cleaned out and probably re cemented. After asking Daryl what he thought, we both agreed that this was a good idea before the carpeting went in. So tomorrow I’m going to mix up some QuickCrete Cement and give it a try. I’m not sure that I’ve ever mixed cement up before, but I guess there is always a first time.
wear gloves when you mix that concrete. when my hubby and i put fence posts in, i didn’t think anything of it, but the concrete dust has chemicals (probably liime) that really irritate the skin! and those bags are heavier than they look.
I didn’t wear gloves, but you’re right about making my hands dry. My hands don’t look the best anyway, and this sure didn’t help! But I got the job done and now to get the carpet in.
